How do you stay fit?

Fitness means different things for different people. Are you just trying to stay thin? Trying to be strong? Trying to have a high stamina? Trying to look chiselled af to pick up babes?
What are your motives? And how do you do it?
I personally really do not like the gym. Im autistic and the gym smells bad, is way too bright, and usually way too loud. I stay fit by just being active and doing things on weekends. Whether its a hike, kayaking, rock-climbing, paintballing, skiing, or mountain biking, whatever it is its fun and it usually takes up my whole day and im sore af afterwards. But I feel good and it keeps me in good shape.
I do eventually want to get into body-building. But it has been ever on the backburner because I've yet to afford the food to bulk up and to put together a home-gym. Socrates has said "It is a disgrace to grow old through sheer carelessness before seeing what manner of man you may become by developing your bodily strength and beauty to their highest limit." and I agree with it, and I very much want to develop my body to the upper-limits that it is capable of, but that quest seems to be ~2 years out for me. In the meantime, I walk around and do stuff.
What are your goals for fitness? Motives? Methods?
